Work experience

April 2006- Current- British Homes Stores Key Associate (p/t)

Summer 2006 - STEP Summer Placement- Marketing Project

I completed a 10-week placement for an Independent Matting and washroom company based in Kempston. My project involved producing a marketing plan for their Syncros department. Key tasks included looking at industry trends, a brief competitor analysis, audience profiles and carrying out a selective customer survey. The project resulted in writing a report and a presentation on the experience. The project enabled positive application of degree content.

December 2005 - Temporary Office work

I completed two weeks of office work on a temporary basis compiling information packs, franking post, entering data into service manager and compiling letters using mail merge.

Feb 02 - Sep 05- British Homes Stores Key Associate

I work as an associate within my role at BHS. It involves working as part of a team, dealing with unsatisfied customers, and helping to ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently through successful communication and leading by example.

Volunteer work

Milton Keynes Play Associations

From June 2005, until October 2006 I volunteered on a fortnightly basis as a marketing assistant for MKPA, a charitable organisation implementing play into the local community. Activities completed included, idea brainstorming, poster design, spreadsheet production, cataloguing photographs, conducting press release materials and producing ideas to meet specific aims and objectives for the various projects. All these activities resulted from an initial marketing plan produced by the managing directors and I.

UCN community Volunteers

Since my first year I have worked alongside the community volunteers at my university towards admin based projects and one off activities such as marketing brainstorming sessions and make poverty history day. The admin task involved 4 hours a week of general administration work from filing and spreadsheets to making out-going calls and developing evaluation packs.
